Invisible Runaways: Young People Living on the Social Margin

Invisible Runaways: Raised by Wolves

Raised by Wolves, evolved from one man’s ten years spent with San Francisco’s street children, who had been chased out of or run from dysfunctional and abusive families and into the streets where children teach children how to do anything to survive. He listened to their stories about sexual encounters, drug use, fights, and prostitution. He observed transvestites, crack pipes, cut heads and bruised necks, which merged to form a backdrop where children aren’t children anymore, where numbing the pain is more important than survival. It is a story, as true as any story can hope to be. It is the story of the streets.
