What’s wonderful about this? Pop stars as our social conscious? Jesus…spoon fed Nike-like slogans – that’s how we get the young vote! Forget about real issues, forget about looking at his ‘liberal’ voting record. Obama is about as liberal as Bill Clinton – both to the right of Dick Nixon. Sad, sad Democrat voters – really believing you have a liberal party.

  2. Robert Campbell Says:

Yes, there is nothing false about hope.

    What an inspiring video !

    Amen to Lissan

  4. MamaShaun Says:

I’ve been a fan since I first saw him last year in Austin, TX, but I never could articulate why I support Obama. Now if someone asks me, I’m just going to driect them to this video, it’s that powerful.

  5. Samuel C Says:

    Obama deserves to win!

  6. Seth Itzkan Says:

At the rally in Boston Monday night Barack said that he would:

1 End the war in Iraq in 2009
2 Make the minimum wage automatically increase to adjust with inflation
3 Rollback the Bush tax breaks on the richest 1%
4 Create an additional tax on companies that ship jobs overseas and re-invest those funds into the community programs
5 Pay (or significantly help pay) the college costs for all Americans who needed it in exchanges for service / community work.

He has also said he would remove earnings cap on the social security contribution, so that those who make over $100K still have to contribute to Social Security (just like those who earn less). Seeing as the SS tax is now part of the general fund anyway, there is no reason to preclude high-earners of paying into it.

If those aren’t *specific* and *liberal* stances, I don’t know what it.

The criticism against him of either being not specific or not liberal are unwarranted. It’s time to take another look.

    – Seth

  11. Heather Hayes Says:

I have never felt compelled to participate in politics in this country, always voting half-heartedly, cynically, muttering to myself, “what for?”. But Barack Obama given me back a sense of hope, and of brotherhood, and of common purpose, that others had taken from me and from millions of others. This video is very moving, especially since it was a spontaneous and unsolicited effort. I hope and pray that Senator Obama and his family don’t suffer at the hands of those for whom he is creating a very big inconvenience. A beautiful speech and a wonderful video.

  12. Chuck Berry Says:

I agree we need change but what changes is he proposing, he never says what those changes are. He will give our money to the poor. I agree he is empoweing but it takes more than rhetoric to run a country.
There is only so much money in the budget and his top issues will be funded I don’t see ballistic missile defense as one of his top concerns.

I love the video Will.I.am made. the acoustic music mixed with Obma’s Speech made it that much more powerful.

I love how Obama talks about the slaves and abolishionists, and the women grabbing for the ballots… They were Radical and young and had HOPE. he is young, but has hope. he is different and we need something different, and someone with Hope and New ideas. I’m voting for him for sure.

  19. Robert Bramlett Says:

This man is the embodiment of the American Dream. Hope live through his words, and change in his heart. It is a bright light at the end of a troublesome political road. This is not your ordinary politics. I am writing this comment well after this speech, just after really recognizing Hillary’s lies and decietfulness. Just the same old politics for her, but this man wants a better future for this nation, and he deserves to be our commander and chief.

  20. Stephen Says:

Obama is the new hope of America. Nothing that neo-cretins say can every change that.

  21. robert Says:

This speech and the song as well are more powerful today than ever before.

  22. Bobert Says:

For those who think this is stupid, why don’t you actually listen to what Obama is saying instead of just getting all pissed off that Obama is a Democrat of that he is half Black.

Barak Obama is a great man, and will hopefully make a great president.
