The Little Pajama Gladiator: An Amazing Tale of Alien Gladiatorial Combat

The Little Pajama Gladiator: An Amazing Tale of Alien Gladiatorial Combat

Pajama Gladiator is an animated short film by Glenn Harmon from Brigham Young University, which won the 2009 Oscar Student Gold Medal for Best Animation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  Pajama Gladiator also received a 2009 Animated Student Emmy Award, and took home the Viewers’ Choice and Producers’ Choice Awards at the 2008 Nicktoons Network Animation Festival.

Pajama Gladiator is a rollicking romp about an excellent little liar-child who tries to get out of trouble at home by telling his mother another of one his big make-believe whoppers.  After being caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Eli tries to excuse his behavior with a tale of spaceships and his gladiatorial combat with huge enemy alien-mutants in an intergalactic gladiator arena.   He’s forced to fight against the aliens with only his nighttime “blankie” to use as a weapon.  The amazing animation takes viewers on a humorous adventure, where the young boy’s imaginary fantasies end up becoming blurred with an unexpected reality.
