The Limitless House: In the Ramshackle Hut Lies a Home

The Limitless House: In the Ramshackle Hut Lies a Home

The Limitless House (Das Grenzenlose Haus) is an enchanting short film directed by the German filmmaker Woof Wan-Bau.  The rendition of this really little film about a very tiny house is flawless.  The film tells the story of a young man who acquires a small hut and allows his creativity to run free.  Through ambitious labors he manages to turn the dilapidated shack into a magical house, and in the process his neighbors become friends.

First They Came….

First They Came….

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’ve come from,
Or what you believe in or what you do,
Freedom of speech is a civil liberty
.”

First They Came is a very powerful two-minute short film by Florian Malak.  The film was produced as a social campaign based on Martin Niemöller’s famous dictum “First they came…” about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power, and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group.  It presents a particularly timely and forceful message in the face of the present-day rapidly rising wave of discrimination against everyone who is perceived as different.
