Jean-François: The Loneliness of a Championship Swimmer

Jean-François is a starkly beautiful and surprisingly moving five-minute animated short film directed by French animators Bruno Mangyoku and Tom Haugomat, which was awarded the Jean Luc Xiberras de la Première Oeuvre Award at Annecy 2010. The film is about a lonely championship swimmer who is trapped by haunting memories of his childhood experiences, and whose stellar present-day athletic achievements only serve to evoke painfully sad memories of childhood failure.
