Smile: Light Up Your Face With Gladness

Smile: Light Up Your Face With Gladness

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness,
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That’s the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what’s the use of crying,
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

Photos of the Day: Kissing the Ceiling, They Kissed at the Clouds

Photos of the Day: Kissing the Ceiling, They Kissed at the Clouds

Photography by: Fred Muram

This series of photographs is by the Canadian photographer Fred Muram. In general, he describes his work as an attempt to have his audience experience images and video that can be understood within the context of similar experiences that might have occurred within their own lives. Muram states that, “As individuals we share so much in common with other people, but we are isolated within our own minds.”

On the other hand, unlike Muram’s stated mission, this series of photographs really doesn’t portray an experience that is common to most of us. Kissing a ceiling just isn’t something most us will ever do. I don’t think. It really wouldn’t be all that difficult once you set your mind to it, but just why on earth would you want to do it? If it has anything to do with the romance of giving a hot juicy smooch to something big and strange, in these pictures I can’t see the people’s faces and so I’m not sure if they really are enjoying this.

But maybe they’re trying to smooch their way straight through those ceilings, right up through the skies above to smack a big kiss upon the heavenly stars!!
