All the Lovers: A Spontaneously Growing Mass of Beautiful, Loving People

All the Lovers: A Spontaneously Growing Mass of Beautiful, Loving People

All the Lovers is the Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue’s sexy music video, an anthem of love directed by Joseph Kahn.  Filmed in downtown Los Angeles, the video features Minogue being lifted to the sky by a growing mass of beautiful people kissing and fondling each other.  The video’s climax finds the Australian princess perched atop a skyscraper-high, cone-shaped mass of writhing bodies, both the overseer and the beloved instigator of the pleasure-packed scene below her.

Apricot: A Film for Romantic Dreamers

Apricot: A Film for Romantic Dreamers

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love,
the things you are,
the things you never want to lose.

Apricot is a touching short film by Australian filmmaker by Ben Briand, which tells the story of a young couple on a date very early in their relationship.  They sit together in a restaurant, reminiscing of first kisses and first loves over a fresh cup of coffee.  However, as the date progresses it becomes apparent that this trip down memory lane has an ulterior motive for one of the potential lovers.

Briand’s Apricot is definitely a film for dreamers, a film for romantics and a film for film lovers.

Kisses from Paris: Two Young Lovers Kiss Their Way Around Paris

Kisses from Paris: Two Young Lovers Kiss Their Way Around Paris

Kisses from Paris is a dreamily sexy three-minute short film by the French filmmaker Yvan Attal, a tribute to Paris, its young lovers and its street life.  The film’s a journey off the beaten track, taking in sights tourists tend to miss: there’s a rock concert in the Château de Vincennes, as well as footage shot around the Bibliothèque Nationale, the Palais du Tokyo and the flea market at Saint Ouen.

It shows the multi-cultural side of Paris, its art and music scenes, and the actors are young, beautiful and appealingly scruffy.  They meet, fall for each other, and spend the day wandering around with their hormones raging, while Rufus Wainwright sings a melancholy tune in the background.  “I don’t want to leave Paris,” moans the young woman in between passionate kisses.

Two old lovers
like ships beached
near the sea of love

in a cove off a bay
no storm can reach
lean into each other

not longing for passions past
or listening for a poet’s speech
just leaning, listing each to each.
