Paul Potts: From Oblivion to Opera on The Oprah Winfrey Show

Paul Potts, the mobil-phone salesman from South Wales, roused audience members and stunned judges with his renditions of opera classics on the English television show Britain’s Got Talent.  In June of 2007, it was announced in front of more than 13 million television viewers that he was the winner of the competition that was searching for an act to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance in London.  In addition, Potts received a prize of $250,000 and then signed a recording contract, which was reportedly worth $2 million.  His debut album, One Chance, topped music charts around in countries around the world, including Britain, Australia and New Zealand.

He performed in numerous European concerts and appeared on American television’s Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The Amazing Paul Potts: Debut Album Tops Charts

Paul Potts Dazzles the World: Wins the Finals!!

At his first audition for Britain’s Got Talent, Paul Potts, the mobil-phone salesman from South Wales, roused the audience members and stunned the judges with his renditions of opera classics.  After his next performance, it was announced that Paul Potts was the winner of the semi-final round, moving on to become a finalist in the competition that is searching for an act that would perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

In the finals competition, the singing salesman once again gave a brilliant operatic performance of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, thoroughly impressing Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and, most importantly, the television viewers at home.  And so, Paul Potts was proclaimed the winner of the Britain’s Got Talent Grand Finals competition.  All the world can now look forward to seeing this singing cell-phone salesman give a breathtakingly touching Royal Performance for Queen Elizabeth!!

Paul Potts, the mobil-phone salesman from South Wales, once again roused the audience members and stunned judges of the talent show Britain’s Got Talent with his rendition of another opera classic.  Later, it was announced that he is the winner of this round, moving on to become a finalist in the competition that is searching for an act that will perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.  In addition, the winner will receive a prize of $250,000.  That’s a lot of cell-phones!!

Sometimes, even on one of those American Idol type talent shows, a brilliant light shines through so wonderfully that no one can fail to acclaim it. This particular show happens to be a British version of Idol, known as Britain’s Got Talent, also hosted by the often cranky Simon Cowell. Paul Potts, a cell-phone sales clerk from South Wales, is one of those totally unexpected lights. Listen, as he seizes his moment with an operatic performance of simple grandeur!
